MEDIA RELEASE

SWI leaves no footprint
Toronto, June 2, 2010

SWI’s carbon footprint and carbon neutral reports are now listed publicly on the Canadian Standards Association (CSA)’s GHG CleanStart Registry and have received CSA’s carbon neutral certificate.

SWI has been carbon neutral since 2007, achieving part of its commitment to social responsibility by mitigating the potential impact of its business activities on climate change. To become carbon neutral, SWI first put in place a comprehensive annual audit to measure the company’s carbon emissions. SWI then purchases carbon credits from viable and assured sources in order to guarantee that the carbon savings are verified and authentic.

“SWI is very pleased that we have achieved three years of carbon neutrality. We are proud that we were one of the first companies to join the GHG CleanStart Registry and that our efforts in becoming carbon neutral have now been recognized and verified by the CSA. Belonging to CSA’s CleanStart Registry gives us confidence that our steps in reducing our carbon footprint are confirmed by this respected organization,” remarked SWI CEO David Tremaine.

SWI’s long-term commitment is to implement strategies to reduce and eliminate their carbon emissions wherever they can. The company is dedicated to making purchasing decisions that have less impact to the environment and to achieving savings in areas such as electricity consumption, maintenance costs and space utilization in their offices.

“Implementing our own carbon neutrality program has given us valuable experience on which we can draw as we develop emissions products and services for our customers,” commented Steve Monier-Williams, Business Development Manager.

Systemware Innovation (SWI) is committed to keeping the environmental impact of their day-to-day operations to a minimum by integrating their environmental policy as standard business practice across the company and its employee activities.
